LONDON -- The older brother of "Harry Potter" actress Afshan Azad yesterday began serving six months in prison for viciously attacking her for dating a non-Muslim.
Azad, 22, who plays Padma Patil in the hit films, told a Manchester court she feared for her life during last year's three-hour ordeal.
Ashraf Azad, 28, punched her, dragged her around by the hair and choked her for talking with her Hindu boyfriend on the phone.
He also called her a prostitute and yelled, "Marry a Muslim or you die!"
Judge Roger Thomas ignored Afshan's request that he spare her brother, who pleaded guilty to assault.
