December 27, 2010 - The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has condemned the blast that occurred inside a chapel in Camp Asturias in Jolo, Sulu last Saturday on Christmas Day that injured at least six people including a priest.
Sheikh Muhammad Muntasir, a graduate of a Saudi Islamic university and the chairperson of the MILF Committee on Da’wah (Islamic Call) called the act “barbaric and satanic and devoid of any religious ethics”.
He said Islam strictly prohibits violence in any form except on the basis of fighting tumult and oppression, and cited the following verses in the Qur’an:.
He also said Allah states that one of His objectives in creating humanity was that they should interact in the best of terms, citing this verse in Qur’an: “O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And God has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).” (49:13)
Among those hurt in the blast was a nine-year-old girl.
An initial investigation showed the explosion ripped through the chapel's roof, destroyed a portion of the ceiling, and created a minor damage on the altar.
There were around 100 people inside the chapel when the blast from an improvised explosive device occurred, report said.

With its multiple dimensions, the Qur’an teaches Muslims how to interact and relate with non-Muslims. There are many verses that set the groundwork for these relations that recommend kindness and excellent behavior.

3. “Do good to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbors who are of kin, neighbors who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess.” (4:36); and
